2009 could no longer keep Luke Schulthess away from the sounds coming from the basement. He went down the few carpeted steps and so, from an initial trio, the quintet Al Pride was formed. Two brothers, two friends and a lady. The beard was never the deciding factor. There were five friends who were making music. Just as short as the way to the basement was the way out on the national stage. With their great live energy and their enthusiasm the five musicians from Baden build their national reputation and attracted a lot of attention.
The band kept their lightness and their music matured quickly. In autumn 2011, Al Pride published their debut «Hello Blue Light». From a «migrant-production», which was recorded in two different cellars and in the room of the producer Lars Christen, came out an album highly praised by the press and critics, and whose songs immediately captured the national radio and television stations. Successful concerts and performances at renowned festival followed, for example they were on the stage of the Gurten or the Zermatt Unplugged.
Anyone, who has experienced one of these concerts, knows that the five friends have become five experienced musicians, who live, feel their music, love and transmit this directly to their audience.
In November 2012, the band went back to work for four months with Lars Christian and Luk Zim- mermann (Lunik) on their second studio album. «Another Color» is more mature, bigger, more in- tense. Clever, multifaceted pop, which captivates the audience and barely lets it go.
Al Pride has decided to think out of the box and explore creations outside of the musical field. So the band has grown with three new members working backstage, which promises for the future much more than music. The guest appearances by James Gruntz as well as the brass section enhance the music and especially the album itself. These guests will also accompany Al Pride on stage. The concerts will just be as colorful as everything, just like one would expect from the band in the future. Picturesque views.
